WE•CLOUDY
My name is Jan, or people call me K.C.. I’m a graphic designer trained in fashion and textiles and a self-taught porcelain artist based in Barcelona, Spain.
I’m lucky to travel the world, documenting my ideas through my experiences.

SOMOS CLOUDY
I believe we are all "single souls" floating through a world that can often feel heavy. To counter this, I draw on my background in graphic character creation to infuse every piece with a sense of whimsy and kindness. My work isn't just about looking; it’s about a "little touch of feeling."
By combining the bone-deep purity of porcelain with vibrant, "melting" glazes and tiny, hand-crafted characters, I build worlds where mental health is nurtured, and the disconnect between humans and nature begins to heal.
The RESIDENCY
PROPOSAL
The Concept: A Portable Sanctuary
I propose to develop "Melt & Mend," a series of interactive porcelain "Cloud Shells." These pieces are designed to be timeless and location-less, mirroring the way water—and our emotions—come and go. As seen in image.png, the exterior of each cloud features a "melting" aesthetic, a playful yet thoughtful nod to the fluidity of our feelings and the urgent environmental reality of our warming, polluted oceans.
"Melt & Mend"
The heart of this project lies in what is hidden within the shell. Using the techniques displayed in the TIMELESS Collection, create dioramas using:
• Original Characters: Graphic-inspired mini-figures that represent the "lost and found" parts of ourselves.
• Preserved Nature: Dried plants and botanicals that ground the ethereal cloud in the physical world.
• The Seal of Memory: Clear resin that "freezes" these stories in a state of permanent kindness.
By merging my graphic skills with fine art porcelain, I am advocating for a world that prioritises mental health and environmental realignment. I want to prove that through art, we can find ourselves, find each other, and—most importantly—give a little more kindness to every heart we pass.
WHY NOW?
I want people to "inject" their stories; they could have a bowl of "sand" or "tiny dried leaves" at the exhibit, where people can write a single word of a "missing memory" and place it under a swinging cloud. It would make the connection between the soul and the art feel very real.
I don’t want to create in a vacuum. I am looking for a residency that allows me to invite the community into the design process. My goal is to host "Cloud-Filling" workshops, where participants can:
1. Select a Character: Choose a graphic figure that reflects their current mental state or a wish for the world.
2. Plant a Memory: Add dried botanicals to represent their connection to nature.
3. Co-Create the Cure: Together, we seal these elements into the porcelain cloud, creating a physical "message in a bottle" for the soul.
Residency Goals: Building a "Kindness Collective"
